
Edward Bawden (1903-1989)
Edward Bawden studied at the Cambridge School of Art and The
Royal College of Art before undertaking
commercial work for Poole Pottery and the Curwen Press.
He lived mainly in Essex all his life and was a watercolourist,
illustrator, designer, printmaker and teacher.
He was a war artist and elected a RA in 1956 .
His work is widely held in public institutions including the Imperial
War Museum and the Tate Gallery.
