
Frederick Gore CBE
(1913-2009)
Frederick Gore studied at the Ruskin School of Drawing and
Westminster School of Art.
Influenced by the French Impressionists, he enjoyed painting the
colourful landscapes of France, Greece and Majorca.
He was Head of Painting at St Martin’s School of Art from 1951-1979 and
wrote extensively as well as
being the Chairman of the Royal Academy Exhibition Committee from
1976-1987
