
Keith Vaughan (1912-1977)
Keith Vaughan had no formal training but gained a good
grounding at
Christ’s Hospital School
and then as a draughtsman.
He was influenced
by the Neo-Romantic painters such as Graham Sutherland and John Minton.
He taught at Camberwell, Central and Slade Schools of Art.
He
specialised in assemblies of male figures.
He kept a daily journal of
his life, now published, up to the day of his self-inflicted death
